Tour description
Long Bien at sunrise is one of Asia’s great photography scenes. Beneath the bridge built in 1902, the wholesale market operates all night—trucks from the provinces unload bananas, lychees, and dragon fruit; women porters carry loads on bamboo shoulder poles; and bicycles piled high with fruit are pushed into the Old Quarter. As the sky begins to brighten, you walk onto the bridge to watch the sunrise over the Red River.
The experience is led by a local photographer who knows the market and its people, and is suitable for photographers of all levels, from phone cameras to full-frame sensor cameras. Your guide will help with composition and settings in low light and, equally importantly, show you how to photograph people respectfully in a working market. We finish with a bowl of pho for breakfast as the city begins to wake.

Other notes
The start time depends on sunrise and may vary from 04:45 to 05:30 depending on the time of year; we will confirm it the day before.
The market is a busy workplace: stay close to your guide, keep out of the porters’ way, and ask permission before taking close-up portraits. We never pay people to pose.
Long Bien Bridge may be closed for repairs; if so, we will photograph the bridge from the riverbank.
Hanoi Train Street is not included in this tour.
