Detailed itinerary
07:30 Our vehicle and tour guide pick you up at the airport or hotel, then depart for the one-day Can Tho - Soc Trang - Bac Lieu tour. You will travel along National Highway 1A through Hau Giang Province to Soc Trang Province, where the group will visit:
- Mahatup Pagoda - Bat Pagoda: Bat Pagoda is recognized as Soc Trang’s first national-level scenic and historical relic. This is a Khmer pagoda with distinctive architecture and ornate designs, and is among the largest and most beautiful of the province’s 92 Khmer pagodas. It is also home to many fruit bats.
- Visit Botum Vong Sa Som Rong Pagoda, also commonly known by locals as Som Rong Pagoda. This is an ideal destination that you should not miss. Every corner of the pagoda provides a stunning backdrop; here, you can dress up as Khmer girls and boys in distinctive traditional costumes. This place is certainly not only ideal for prayer but also for taking home beautiful photographs.
Lunch: The group has lunch at a restaurant. Then depart for Bac Lieu.
- Continue the journey to Bac Lieu to visit the Bac Lieu Prince’s Mansion and hear fascinating stories about the Bac Lieu Prince, a man famous for being the wealthiest and most extravagant person in Saigon and Southern Vietnam during the 1930s and 1940s.
- Visit the Bac Lieu Wind Farm, with gigantic wind turbine blades turning against the deep blue sky. Visitors often refer to this place as the Netherlands of Vietnam.
- The group continues to visit and learn about the art of Southern Vietnamese đờn ca tài tử at the Cao Van Lau Musician Memorial Site.
15:30 The group departs for Can Tho. On the way back, stop to shop for the specialty Vung Thom pia cakes in Soc Trang.
18:00 Arrive in Can Tho City. The vehicle takes you back to the original pick-up point. Our tour guide, on behalf of the company, thanks you, bids you farewell, and looks forward to welcoming you again on future tours.
