Detailed itinerary
05:00 Our vehicle and tour guide will pick you up at the meeting point. The one-day journey to Trà Vinh will offer you many exciting experiences.
07:00 Stop for breakfast at a restaurant. The menu includes Mỹ Tho rice noodles/thick rice noodles/omelet with bread + iced tea/coffee.
09:00 The group arrives in Trà Vinh. Board the ferry at Phước Vinh Ferry and enjoy views of the vast Cổ Chiên River, along with numerous islets and emerging alluvial mounds along the way.
09:30 Arrive at Cồn Chim, receive conical hats and take souvenir photos at the Cồn Chim Village Gate. Begin the community tourism tour following the “living in harmony with nature” model. Walk or cycle along the peaceful village road and enjoy the fresh air while visiting the following attractions:
- Southern Traditional Kitchen: Learn about the history and people of Cồn Chim. Enjoy five-bean tea and traditional cakes and preserves, drink sương sâm herbal jelly, paddle a raft, cross a monkey bridge and play traditional games.
- Coconut Garden: Admire the Coconut Road and enjoy fresh coconut served with an environmentally friendly reed straw. Admire the flowers and rice fields while enjoying the fresh atmosphere of the riverside countryside. Here, you will learn how to weave coconut leaves into handbags, grasshoppers, clocks and more.
- Cô Ba Sữa Leaf Cakes: Visit a traditional Mekong Delta-style house. Experience grinding flour with a stone mill nearly a century old, make your own leaf cakes, enjoy the results and drink a refreshing pandan-leaf and rock-sugar beverage.
- Traditional Games: Return to your childhood with familiar traditional games such as skipping rope, marbles and can knockdown, along with many other exciting activities.
- In particular, you can join the crab-racing game and place bets on the crab contestants, with prizes awarded to the winners.
- Crab Fishing (from March to September) or Giant Freshwater Prawn Fishing (from September to March): Catch crabs and prawns by hand or use a casting net for giant freshwater prawns, while listening to stories about livelihoods in Cồn Chim: “The prawn embraces the rice plant.”
12:00 Enjoy lunch at a local resident’s home, featuring Southern Vietnamese dishes prepared with locally caught ingredients, and savor bánh xèo made with river shrimp, mustard greens and homegrown wild vegetables, with a rich, sweet and fragrant flavor.

- Coconut-steamed prawns
