Tour description
The cyclo was once a signature mode of transport in Phnom Penh and remains one of the most enjoyable ways to see the city at a leisurely pace. Many cyclo drivers have been in the profession for decades and know every corner of the city.
The journey passes through the Old Quarter around Wat Phnom, with French colonial buildings such as the Central Post Office, the former National Bank, and Le Royal Hotel; along Norodom Boulevard with its colonial villas; past the Independence Monument and the monument to King Norodom Sihanouk; and then to the Central Market (Psar Thmei) – an Art Deco building with a huge golden dome built in 1937. The guide will share the city’s story from the colonial period, through the 1960s “Pearl of Asia” era, to the present day.
Morning and afternoon tours are available (the afternoon tour ends by the riverside at sunset).
