Tour description
Most cycling tours in Hoi An head toward the rice fields north of the city. This tour takes the opposite direction—crossing the Thu Bon River on the small ferries still used by local people, carrying the bicycles to Cam Kim Island, where you’ll find village lanes, bamboo groves, boatbuilding workshops, and almost no traffic.
We’ll leisurely cycle around the island, meet the woodworkers who build wooden fishing boats and families who weave sleeping mats, then cross the river back and cycle through the rice fields to Thanh Ha, a village of artisans who make pottery from clay found along the river. The trip ends with a simple lunch by the river.

Detailed itinerary
Stop 1 - Riverside (07:30): Bicycles, helmets and guide.
Stop 2 - Local ferry (around 07:45): Cross the Thu Bon River with your bicycle.
Stop 3 - Cam Kim Island (around 08:00): Village roads, bamboo groves, boatbuilding workshops and mat weavers.
Stop 4 - Rice fields (around 09:45): Cross the river back and cycle through the fields.
Stop 5 - Thanh Ha Pottery Village (around 10:30): Workshops and pottery kilns of local artisans.
Stop 6 - Riverside lunch (around 11:15).
End (12:00): Cycle back to Hoi An.

Other notes
Bicycles with baskets and helmets are provided; child seats and children’s bicycles can be requested. The route is flat, the pace is leisurely, and there are plenty of stops, but you should feel comfortable cycling in light local traffic.
Approximately 18 km on flat terrain. Life jackets are available on the ferry.
