– Phu Quoc Prison: Phu Quoc Prison is also known as "Coconut Tree Prison" because it was previously located in Cay Dua (Coconut Tree) hamlet. Covering an area of about 40 hectares, it was built during the French colonial era. In 1996, Phu Quoc Prison was recognized as a national historic site and opened its doors to visitors. During the resistance wars against the French and the Americans, hundreds of prisoners were detained here and subjected to brutal forms of torture. Phu Quoc Prison stands as vivid evidence of colonial crimes. Visiting the prison relic site and seeing the preserved artifacts firsthand, you will deeply appreciate the patriotism and the brave, indomitable spirit of the revolutionary soldiers in this "hell on earth."
