Tra Vinh 1 Day – A Journey to Discover Culture and Nature: Join us in Tra Vinh, a fertile land with vast green rice fields, ancient pagodas, and attractive eco-tourism sites. The Tra Vinh garden experience program will take you to explore Con Chim Islet, a green oasis in the heart of the river, and Ba Om Pond, a sacred site associated with many legends. You will learn about the culture and history of this land, enjoy local specialties such as fermented fish hotpot, banh xeo, and soak in the fresh air of the river region.

Detailed itinerary
PICK-UP – CON CHIM ISLET – ANG PAGODA (2 MEALS INCLUDED)
06:00 Our tour guide picks you up at the meeting point. The tour guide socializes with you on the bus and reiterates the itinerary.
07:00 Stop for breakfast at a restaurant. The menu includes My Tho rice noodle soup/water fern cake/noodle soup/banh mi with sunny-side-up eggs + iced tea/coffee.
09:00 Arrive in Tra Vinh. Then visit:
- Ba Om Pond – a unique scenic attraction in Tra Vinh Province, featuring the tranquil beauty of the lake, the majestic appearance of hundreds-year-old ancient trees surrounding it, and the spectacular, strangely shaped root systems. Learn about the legendary story of Ba Om Pond.
- Ang Pagoda – the oldest pagoda in the Khmer pagoda system in Tra Vinh, built more than 10 centuries ago. The pagoda features ancient architecture decorated with numerous artworks, whose lines and patterns strongly reflect the spiritual and religious cultural identity of the Khmer people in southern Vietnam.
10:30 Board the boat and cross the Phuoc Vinh Ferry. Along the way, admire the vast Co Chien River and numerous islets and emerging sandbanks gradually taking shape.
11:00 Arrive at Con Chim Islet, receive conical hats, and take souvenir photos at the Con Chim Village Gate. Begin the community-based tourism tour following the “in harmony with nature” model. Walk or cycle along the peaceful village road and enjoy the fresh air while visiting:
- Southern Kitchen of Old Times: Listen to an introduction to the history and people of Con Chim. Enjoy five-bean tea and traditional cakes and preserves, drink sương sâm jelly, raft, cross a monkey bridge, and experience the “giở gió” activity.
- Coconut Garden: Admire Coconut Road and enjoy fresh coconut through an eco-friendly reed straw. Admire the flowers and rice fields while enjoying the fresh countryside atmosphere of the river region. Here, you will be shown how to weave coconut leaves into handbags, grasshoppers, clocks, and more.
Ba Co Sua Leaf Cakes: Visit a dragon-themed house with a distinctive Mekong Delta character. Experience grinding flour with a stone mill nearly a century old, make leaf cakes yourself, enjoy the finished products, and drink refreshing pandan-leaf and rock-sugar water.
- Folk Games: Return to your childhood through familiar folk games such as jump rope, marbles, can knocking, and many other exciting activities.
In particular, you can participate in crab races and place bets on the crab athletes, with prizes for the winners.
Crab Fishing (from March to September) or Giant Freshwater Prawn Fishing (from September to March): Catch crabs and prawns yourself or use a giant freshwater prawn catching stick, while listening to stories about livelihoods on Con Chim: “The prawn embraces the rice plant.”
12:00 Have lunch at a local resident’s home, featuring Southern Vietnamese dishes made from locally caught ingredients, and enjoy self-prepared banh xeo made with river shrimp, mustard greens, and locally grown wild vegetables, savoring their rich sweetness and aroma.
Enjoy shopping at the Countryside Market, where local residents sell local products such as crabs, prawns, mixed vegetables, eggs, fish, cakes, preserves, and more. (For groups of 50 or more guests.)
14:30 Board the ferry and travel back to Ho Chi Minh City.
18:00 Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, ending the Tra Vinh – Con Chim program, “A Journey to Touch the Heart.” We look forward to seeing you again on upcoming programs.
