Tour description
Just about 30 minutes from central Phnom Penh, Koh Dach—an island in the middle of the Mekong River—offers a completely different rural way of life: wooden stilt houses, mango gardens, cornfields, and the clatter of looms beneath the houses.
Koh Dach residents are famous for their traditional silk weaving. You will visit a weaving family, observe the processes of reeling silk, dyeing, and weaving sampot—the traditional Khmer sarong—and may purchase products directly from the artisans who make them.
As afternoon falls, you will return to the city and board a cruise on the Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers, admiring the Royal Palace, Sisowath Quay, and the Phnom Penh skyline turning orange in the sunset.
A gentle tour suitable for families, couples, and travelers who want to experience local life.
