Tour description
Most travelers go from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap by bus or plane and miss the fascinating destinations along National Highway 6. This 2-day program lets you travel comfortably by private vehicle and explore central Cambodia.
On the first day, stop at Skun Market – famous for its fried spiders and insects – then continue to Kampong Thom to visit the pre-Angkorian temple complex of Sambor Prei Kuk (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) in the afternoon when the sun is gentler. Spend the night in Kampong Thom or at a community homestay in Sambor Village.
On the second day, visit Phnom Santuk Mountain, with hundreds of Buddha statues and a pagoda at the summit, stop at the 12th-century Kampong Kdei Stone Bridge, then arrive in Siem Reap in the early afternoon, with enough time to enjoy the sunset at Angkor if you wish.
