Detailed itinerary
Departure: Our company's vehicle and tour guide pick up guests at the meeting point, beginning the one-day Hung Yen tour. Visit the attractions included in the tour in sequence:
- Da Hoa Temple is dedicated to Chu Dong Tu, one of the “Four Immortals” in Vietnamese folk beliefs. The temple has a spacious setting shaded by lush, ancient trees, seemingly affirming the saying “auspicious land attracts birds”; this is indeed a sacred place.
- Hoa Da Trach Temple and the Temple of Trieu Viet Vuong. The two temples are located within the same grounds, with Hoa Da Trach Temple in front and the Temple of Trieu Viet Vuong behind it. The temple features feudal architecture in the “front N, rear Dinh” style, divided into three sections: the front ceremonial hall, middle worship hall, and rear sanctuary. The grounds are divided into three areas: the left and right side buildings and the main temple, featuring a decorative screen, jade well, and distinctive bronze bell.
- May Temple: dedicated to the general Pham Dinh Ho. May Temple possesses many distinctive cultural values preserved to this day, including a system of ancient statues in the style of the Later Le Dynasty. In addition, the temple contains intricately carved curtain doors, horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, altars, and palanquins of great cultural value and exceptional rarity.
- Dao Nuong Temple is dedicated to Dao Thi Hue, who used her talent and ingenuity to drive the Ming troops out of the village without losing a single soldier. When Dao Thi Hue died, the villagers commemorated her great contributions by building a temple in her honor. Once the country was at peace, King Le Thai To posthumously honored her as a “Blessed Deity,” ordered the restoration of the shrine, and granted fields for annual offerings. In addition, Dao Thi Hue is revered as one of the founding ancestors of the Vietnamese a dao—ca tru singing profession, so traditional ca tru melodies are indispensable during village festivals.
- Tran Temple honors the Vietnamese national hero, Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, whose resounding victories included defeating the invading Yuan–Mongol forces three times in the 18th century. His name will be remembered for generations to come.
- Mau Temple, also known as Hoa Duong Linh Tu or Mau Duong Temple, is located in Hung Yen City, within the Pho Hien historical complex. Dedicated to Lady Duong Quy Phi, formerly the wife of a Song Dynasty king, this renowned sacred temple stands beside Ban Nguyet Lake. It is also a popular attraction where visitors can enjoy pedal boating or admire the unique beauty of the clear blue lake.
Cuisine: When visiting Hung Yen, remember to savor the region's rich cuisine, including Dong Tao chicken, bun thang, longan, sweet oranges, and more, depending on the season.
