Tour description

Vientiane is one of the most peaceful capitals in Southeast Asia, stretching along the banks of the Mekong River opposite Thailand, with ancient temples, tree-lined boulevards, and French-style cafés.

The tour begins at Pha That Luang – a gold-gilded stupa considered the national symbol and believed to house a Buddha relic. Next is the Patuxai Victory Monument, where you can climb to the top and admire views of the city. The afternoon is devoted to Wat Si Saket (1818) – the oldest surviving temple in Vientiane, with more than 6,000 small Buddha images in wall niches – and Haw Phra Kaew, the former royal temple that once housed the Emerald Buddha.

You will also visit the COPE Visitor Centre, which tells the story of unexploded ordnance in Laos and its work supporting people with disabilities, then end the day along the Mekong River as sunset falls and the night market opens.
