Tour description
Vientiane is undoubtedly Asia’s most laid-back capital, a small riverside city where gilded temples, French colonial villas, and the mighty Mekong create a gentle, peaceful atmosphere. Rich in Buddhist heritage yet wonderfully unhurried, it is an excellent destination to explore at a leisurely pace. On this walking tour, a local guide will introduce you to the city’s temples and relaxed way of life.
You will admire the golden Pha That Luang stupa, Laos’s national symbol, stroll along tree-lined avenues past colonial-era buildings, and visit serene riverside temples. Along the way, you will hear about Lao Buddhism, the French colonial period, and everyday life along the Mekong River. Peaceful and charming, Vientiane is a lovely city to explore on foot.
