Tour description
More than 95% of Cambodians follow Theravada Buddhism, and the temple is the center of life in every village. This tour offers a gentle spiritual experience that respects tradition and is suitable for all visitors, whether or not they practice a religion.
In the morning, you and your guide prepare offerings (flowers, incense, and dried food) and visit a local temple to receive a blessing ceremony: monks chant in Pali, sprinkle holy water, and tie a lucky red thread around your wrist.
Afterward, you visit Wat Bo – one of the oldest temples in Siem Reap – famous for its 19th-century murals depicting the Reamker (the Khmer version of the Ramayana epic), and have the opportunity to talk with young monks about monastic life and study at the temple (subject to the temple’s schedule).
