Description du circuit

Da Nang eats its seafood on the far side of the river, in the fishing neighbourhoods below Son Tra mountain, where open-fronted grill houses set out plastic tables the moment the sun drops. Very few visitors cross over. That is where this tour goes.

We start with the dish the city is addicted to: clams steamed with lemongrass and chilli, eaten by the kilo with a beer. Then grilled scallops with spring onion oil and peanuts, razor clams with garlic, and whatever the boats brought in that afternoon, chosen with your guide at the tank rather than from a menu. Later we move to a Michelin Bib Gourmand congee shop for chao vit, duck congee with shredded meat and ginger fish sauce, which is what locals eat to finish a night of shellfish.

We time the walk to end back on the riverfront. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights the Dragon Bridge breathes fire and water at nine o'clock, and we will be standing in the right place with something cold in hand.

Small group, maximum 10 guests, with short taxi transfers included between neighbourhoods.
Meeting point:

Han River waterfront at Tran Hung Dao Street, near the Dragon Bridge, Da Nang

View on map

We meet on the east bank promenade at Tran Hung Dao Street, a two-minute walk from the Dragon Bridge. Your guide will have a small sign with your name.

Itinéraire détaillé

Stop 1 - Han River riverfront: We meet on the promenade while your guide explains how Da Nang's fishing fleet works and what is in season tonight.
Stop 2 - Clams with lemongrass, Tho Quang: The city's obsession - fresh clams steamed with lemongrass, chilli and herbs, eaten by hand with a cold local beer at a plastic table.
Stop 3 - Charcoal grill house: Grilled scallops with spring onion oil and crushed peanuts, razor clams with garlic, and a whole grilled fish chosen at the tank.
Stop 4 - Son Tra night market: A short walk through the local night market with grilled squid, rice-paper pizza and tropical fruit, and your guide on how the neighbourhood changed.
Stop 5 - Chao vit, Bib Gourmand duck congee: Silky duck congee with shredded meat, ginger fish sauce and a plate of pickled cabbage - the local nightcap dish.
Stop 6 - Dragon Bridge finish: We return to the riverfront for the fire-and-water show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, or a riverside dessert on other evenings.

Autres remarques

Runs daily at 17:30. The Dragon Bridge fire-and-water show runs only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 21:00 and lasts about 15 minutes. It is weather-dependent and can be cancelled without notice, so we include it when it runs but never promise it.
Shellfish is the core of this tour. If you cannot eat shellfish, tell us at least 48 hours ahead and we will build a grilled fish and pork route instead - or take our morning tour, which suits better.
Minimum age 12 because of the late finish and the beer stops.
Da Nang's rain and typhoon season runs roughly September to December.
Note on addresses: Quang Nam was merged into Da Nang City in July 2025 and ward names changed; street numbers are unchanged.
